computer update

i dropped off my busted laptop at best buy, so it will be out of commission for at least two weeks. that computer had all my store documents and photos on it so i'm not sure when the next update will be. just my luck--i was all geared up to post new stuff earlier this week, but when i turned on my computer the monitor was completely black. it looks like i'll have to sneak in some pork chop girl activities when it''s slow at the office...

announcement--computer meltdown

the lcd display on my laptop has died, so there will be no new products posted until i can get tech support to fix it. in the meantime i may be able hook up an external monitor, so i'll keep you updated. once again, sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience!

reviving the 90s?

i picked up these deadstock doc martens from the thrift store the other day. i was never into them back then, but lately i've been liking chunky shoes.

i'm not sure if they look too much like clown shoes...

e-bay losses

i love browsing on e-bay, but lately it's been so hard to get good deals. apparently a lot of other people have the same taste as me. so nowadays, i mostly put 5-10 items on my "watch" list and never end up bidding because the prices get too crazy. these two are especially sad losses:

phillip lim bow cardigan. sold for $200.

vintage norma kamali flats. sold for over $200.

damn.

focus, focus

i went shopping after work today but nothing caught my eye. i didn't know what i was looking for, or which stores i wanted to go to, so i just kind of wandered around and didn't end up buying anything. what a wasted of time! i decided that making a list of items or styles i was looking for would help me be more productive. when all the spring stuff starts arriving in stores, here's what i'll be on the lookout for:

1. phillip lim trench coat. i can't wait to see this in person. from the photo, the cut and length look really promising.
2. cropped, skinny utilitarian pants. i've always had a thing for tomboy-ish pants, no matter how "uncool" they are. i have a hunch that these will be hard to find. seems like something h&m might have, but their stock changes so quickly they'd be easy to miss.
3. baggy, khaki cuffed shorts. really basic = easy to find, right? wrong! it will be a challenge to find a nice pair for under $100 (i think spending more than that for shorts is kind of crazy). i can already imagine them with tons of things i already have in my closet, so it's a no-brainer buy for me.

spring wishlist

with the new budget in mind, i've decided whatever i buy from now on has to be sort of plain and simple. since i'm at work 5 days a week, the clothes have to be casual and comfortable. working in production means people wear jeans, sneakers, hoodies, t-shirts, etc. i could wear all of the following to work, and they fit in with my personal style:

1. the basic with a twist-->james perse back drop t-shirt dress. i'd wear this all the time. from shopbop.
2. the unique summer dress-->a.p.c. sailor dress. i love chambray and the sailor collar is so cute. from a.p.c..
3. the versatile shoes-->frye wanda punch out t-strap wedges. jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, i think these would go with a lot of items i already own. from shopbop.
4. the classic-->loomstate reflection jeans. selvage, non-stretch, and high-waisted. i think i just found my dream jeans. from barney's.
